This is Bluewater's switching Engine, the Brookville #117. It is used to
switch cars to and from the yard to the shop.
The locomotive was originally built for Detroit Edison for use at its
Marysville power plant. When Bluewater bought the locomotive, it came with
the original shipping documents.
In 2003, after trying to repair the original gasoline engine our volunteer
mechanical staff elected to replace the engine and mechanical transmission
with a diesel and automatic.
A Detroit Diesel 6-71 prime mover with Allison automatic transmission was
purchased and installed.
