Back by popular demand, Bluewater invites one and all to join us for our annual Christmas Lights Spectacular.
This one day tour begins at 10 AM as we board National Trails deluxe motor coaches at our new boarding
location, the Royal Oak Senior Center (3500 Marias, 1-1/2 blocks north of 13 Mile) for a 10:30 AM
departure.
Our first stop is Frankenmuth for shopping at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland THE WORLD’S LARGEST
CHRISTMAS STORE (the size of one-and-a-half football fields!), and after working up an appetite there, we will
proceed to the world-famous Bavarian Inn to feast on a complete home-cooked, family-style chicken dinner (from
soup to desert) at 3 PM. Following dinner there will be time for still more shopping in downtown Frankenmuth, or
to simply take in the sights of Michigan's "Little Bavaria" in its Christmas finery.
Next we head to Crossroads Village for an exciting train ride on the Huckleberry Railroad. We will travel in
vintage passenger cars behind a narrow-gauge steam locomotive over the reconfigured former Pere Marquette
Railway through Genesee County. Some 600,000 holiday lights adorn the village, and the train itself! Afterward
we will stroll through the historic village to view homes, shops, and churches aglow with lights and brought to life
by period-costumed villagers. Upon park-closing at 9 PM, we will re-board the motor coaches for an 11 PM
return to Royal Oak.
Ticket price for this tour package (including motor coach transportation, dinner at the Bavarian Inn, Crossroads
Village admission and Huckleberry Railroad train ride) escorted by Bluewater members is $75 per person.
Seating is limited, so reserve your seat today. Driving directions to the Royal Oak Senior Center will be sent with
your tickets.
