Join Bluewater for a 3 day escorted rail weekend in Chicago starting on Friday riding
Amtrak service out of Dearborn, Michigan.  Boarding the Wolverine, Train 351, at 7:11 AM
we are scheduled to arrive in Chicago at 11:24 AM, CST.  We will then proceed to our
home for the weekend, the Hilton-Palmer House in Downtown Chicago for our early
check in and lunch.  After lunch we will use our METRA pass and board the bus to the
Museum of Science and Industry to view one of the largest O Scale operating model
railroads, NYC 999 - the first steam engine to break the 100 mph speed barrier, the Pioneer
Zephyr and spend the remainder of our time there viewing other exhibits.  Friday night we
will visit Chicago’s Navy Pier, take in the sights and select a place for dinner.

Saturday morning after breakfast we will again use our METRA rail pass to travel to Union,
Illinois to see a large railroad equipment collection at the Illinois Railway Museum (IRM).
The IRM features both static displays and operating equipment for us to ride on.  Saturday
night you can explore Chicago and have dinner at one of the many fine downtown
restaurants.

For our return home on Sunday morning we will go to the Millennium Station to board the
South Shore Line Passenger service in downtown Chicago.  The South Shore uses
electric powered commuter trains to travel between Chicago and South Bend, Indiana.
Once we arrive in South Bend our motor coach will transport us to Elkhart, Indiana for
lunch at the NYC museum/depot for a tour and a sit down lunch.  From Elkhart our motor
coach journey returns us to the Amtrak Dearborn station.

Our three-day tour includes Amtrak service from Dearborn, Michigan and all connections.
Our two nights lodging at the Hilton-Palmer House including taxes and luggage handling,
plus the admissions to the museums, Metra and CSS&SB tickets and the lunch at the
NYC museum.

We have planned this as a small group tour; please place your order soon.
