    Dear Friends of Bluewater,
    For over 20 years, the Bluewater Michigan Chapter has been actively collecting,
    preserving and operating vintage railroad equipment. Today the Chapter owns one
    of the largest fleets of operating vintage railcars in the country. For two decades, we
    have been continuously upgrading and improving the mechanical systems, interiors
    and exteriors of our cars. We historically, have been able to use money earned
    through operations for most of this work. However, occasionally we have needed
    more money for major capital projects than has been immediately available.

    Bluewater maintains and operates a fleet of many railcars built between the 1930s
    and early 1950s. These coaches are currently housed in a historic roundhouse in
    Saginaw, MI. Pictures and descriptions of these cars can be found on this web site
    in the “Fleet and Shop” section. Most of these cars had antiquated heating, air-
    conditioning, and electrical systems, and required major body and mechanical work
    when we acquired them. Over the years we have completely rebuilt many coaches in
    our operating fleet with modern and efficient systems while maintaining historically-
    accurate interior and exterior restorations.

    Bluewater is a 501[c](3) organization, and your donation may be tax-deductible
    and/or eligible for matching by your employer. Please ask your employer if they have
    a matching program.

    Note about large donations:
    Bluewater is always looking for individuals or foundations interested in making large
    donations ($1,000 or more) through direct donations, grants, bequests, gift annuities
    or other forms of planned giving.

    Note about foundation donations and grants:
    Bluewater is currently soliciting foundations for grants and other donations toward
    our efforts. If you think Bluewater's work may be a good fit into your foundation's
